Crafting beef to fit the needs of flavor, wholesomeness and taste is a study in patience, time and experience. And that’s where our story begins, with two visionaries from the beef industry on opposite sides of the country with a mission to craft a perfect burger.
From the East, there was Evan Wexler, a beef industry veteran and second-generation butcher with strong ties to the Manhattan meatpacking district. On the West, Ty Freeborn, a native West Coaster with a cattle ranching background that reaches as far back as five generations. Together, a perfect relationship was born, bringing to the table a partnership that combined knowledge of the savory qualities of American Kobe-style beef and traditional American beef under the Steakhouse Elite brand.
With a reputation as a 30-year beef innovator, Wexler took his knowledge of industry trends and consumer tastes, and combined it with Freeborn’s specialized ability to raise and sell Wagyu cattle and the first Steakhouse Elite product was born. Their innovative Kobe-Crafted™ burger--which combined the bold flavor and texture of American-raised Wagyu beef in a perfectly-balanced patty--set the tone for the many products to come. The success of their signature product made room for more varieties, with products such as the Grass Fed beef and Angus beef--born out of Steakhouse Elite brand--and offering customers savory, crafted flavor in varieties tailored to their personal tastes and preferences.
